There was a huge bonus for attending the much anticipated Google I/0 2013, currently underway in San Francisco: everyone attending walks away with a free $1300 Chromebook Pixel.
Asus has finally decided to join the Chromebook bandwagon. The Taiwanese electronics manufacturer joins Acer, Samsung, HP and Lenovo as OEM partners and expects to have a Chromebook laptop available in the latter half of 2013.
The Acer C7 Chromebook is being made available to a wider distribution channel. Tech Data has made the new cost-efficient Chromebook available to more than 60,000 resellers across the United States.

There is possibly another Chromebook in the pipeline. The new model is expected to be based on the latest Intel processor, the Haswell, which is expected to launch in June.
If you've been holding out for the LTE version of the most souped up - and also the most costly- Chromebook on the market, circle April 8 on your calendar. Be aware that it's $150 more than the WiFi version that's been on sale through Google Play for the past few weeks.
