Google has confirmed that new Chromebooks featuring the more powerful Haswell processors from Intel are in production. In addition, Toshiba is the latest PC manufacturer to join the Chromebook team.

Google is anticipating a significant boost in Chromebook sales for the second half of 2013 according to reports. Leading Chromebook manufacturers such as Acer and Samsung could be ramping up production by three fold, reports DigiTimes.
Singapore is the second country in the Asia Pacific region to get Chromebooks. The Chrome OS-powered laptops were introduced in Malaysia recently, and now three models from Acer, Samsung and HP are on sale at Courts retail stores throughout Singapore.
There is possibly another Chromebook in the pipeline. The new model is expected to be based on the latest Intel processor, the Haswell, which is expected to launch in June.
