Google announced that the latest addition to the Chromebook family, the Acer C7, will go on sale on Tuesday, November 13th.
With an eye-catching $199 pricetag, the C7 is $50 less expensive than the recently introduced new Samsung Chromebook.
The Acer C7 comes equipped with a 320-GB hard drive and the always welcome 100 GB of free cloud-based storage on Google Drive for two years. The 11.6-inch screen has a 1366-by-768-pixel display and sports a dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n and Ethernet networking support, an HD camera, three USB 2.0 ports, one HDMI port, and one VGA port.
But it weighs in at 3 pounds, just over half a pound heavier than the econo-Samsung model and the battery charge lasts 3.5 hours, far less than other models.
The C7 will be available in the US on Google Play, BestBuy.com and in select Best Buy stores. In the United Kingdom, it will be sold through Google Play, Amazon UK, PC World and Currys.
