When is Acer’s Second Generation Chromebook Due?

Acer will be releasing a second generation Chromebook this October according to a DIGITIMES report.

“Acer’s 11.6-inch Chromebook has already entered mass production with monthly shipments expected to reach as high as 200,000 units,” the Taiwanese online publication reported.

In the same article, Lenovo is mentioned to be “developing second-generation Chromebook” products as well.

We’ll have to wait and see what improvements will be made to the first generation Acer AC700 Chromebook and whether the prices will remain significantly lower than the Samsung second generation 550 units, which currently go for $449.99 for the WiFi version or $549.99 for WiFi + 3G model.
