There are now more than 200 million active Chrome users worldwide and they are downloading millions of Web apps a day.
They certainly have plenty to choose from as the Chrome Web Store, which just launched in December 2010, now has more than 30,000 apps, themes and extensions.
It’s obvious that the Chrome Web Store’s redesign in October is paying dividends.
Rahul Roy-Chowdhury, senior product manager for Chrome said: “Our aim is to continue to build on this excellent momentum, and create a Web Store that serves the retail, social and productivity needs of our users. As more and more retailers and developers see the growth of the Chrome Web Store, we’re confident that they’ll join us.”
Attracting new computer buyers could also have a significant impact in light of Google, Samsung, and Acer working together on dropping the price of Chromebooks as we head into the holiday shopping season.
