Acer 3G Chromebooks Likely Shipping In September

For those who’ve previously made up their minds to wait for the Acer AC700-1529 Chromebook (3G), there’s good news and bad news.

You can order them right now from Amazon, which is good, but you’ll likely have to wait until school’s already started before it’s delivered.

As of today, August 23rd, Amazon has the shipment date listed as 3 to 6 weeks, which means actual delivery will be between September 13th to October 4th – give or take.

But with built-in WiFi and 3G it’s easy to jump online from just about anywhere – airports, coffee shops and more! Surely, that’s worth the wait and the extra $80 bucks ($429.99 retail value), right?
