Check in at the Ace in NYC and walk around with a Chromebook

If you checked into the Ace Hotel this holiday weekend, chances are there was a nice shiny Chromebook laptop waiting for you in your room. We’re guessing it was a Samsung Series 5 notebook, since Acer AC700s will be released on July 11, according to Amazon.

Google and the Ace Hotel have struck a deal running from July 1 to September 3rd whereby guests will be treated to Chromebooks, free WiFi and 3G connectivity during their stay. Take your Chromebook around the hotel and make use of the WiFi hotspots or walk around Times Square, Macy’s, or the Broadway theater district – anywhere in the Big Apple – with your Chromebook in hand to surf, email, tweet, upload photos or whatever tasks you choose to handle.

Oh, and if you happen to be the forgetful type, Ace Hotel has a friendly reminder: “Just make sure to leave it in your room when checking out, or we’ll have to charge you for it ($499). Thanks for understanding.”
